Both classes are 90 minutes in length and start on land with a brief introduction followed by an instructor-led demonstration on the water. For the intro to paddle boarding class attendees will be guided through the process of standing up on their paddleboard and covering multiple stroke techniques to maneuver on the water. During the SUP yoga class attendees will instead drop anchor and be guided through a gentle 45-minute yoga practice before returning to land.
You can paddle board on just about any body of water! We recommend paddle boarding on lakes or ponds where there is minimal boat traffic. You can also paddle board on bays, oceans and rivers where the conditions permit.
You do not need to swim while paddle boarding, however, you do need to know how to swim in case of an emergency.
Falling off your paddle board isn’t a common occurrence, but it can happen on occasion. Your instructor will guide you through the scenarios where this may occur and will provide personal guidance to ensure safety wherever possible.
