As one of America’s only woman-owned ski shops, Ski Shack has served adventure-loving families with shop-tested gear, service and rentals for 40 years.
The business began as a seasonal ski shop in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1983. Fast forward 40 years later we are now a four-season gear retailer and outdoor community hub. Our mission is to facilitate outdoor adventure for people of all ages, abilities and income levels — here in Northeast PA and beyond.
We carry equipment and clothing for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, trail running, SUP and kayaking. We’re also our region’s only authorized OneWheel dealer, and we make a point of working with brands whose values mirror our own commitments to service and sustainability.
We also host gear demos, educational workshops, paddleboard yoga classes, guided hikes, neighborhood cleanups and fundraisers for local charities. With each gathering, we’re working to grow our regional outdoor community, bring awareness to local conservation efforts, and support area nonprofits.
Here at the Shack, we’re lifelong outdoor adventurers and believe that exercising outside (with others, whenever possible) gives people longer, healthier, more thrive-ful lives. We know this from personal experience — and from numerous long-term studies. We’re here to help everyone get outside: comfortably, confidently, safely, together. Often.
