Women's Intro to Kayak Fishing Program
Where: Virtual
When: Wednesday, April 13, 2022- 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
What: Ladies, have you ever wondered what it would be like to fish from a kayak? Now is your opportunity to learn, alongside other women! Join PFBC staff for this FREE, virtual program, designed to introduce you to the basics of kayak fishing!
Family Trout Fishing Program
Where: Lackawanna State Park - North Abington Twp, PA
When: April 16, 2022 - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
What: Families with little or no fishing experience are invited to learn basic fishing skills before trying their luck catching fish! The program is open to ages 5 and older. A parent or guardian must accompany those under 18 years old. The program is free, all equipment is provided, and a fishing license is not needed.
Trout Rodeo & Basket Auction
Where: Bubeck Park/Stoyer’s Dam - Schuylkill Haven, PA
When: Saturday, April 23, 2022 - 8:00 am
What: A fun event for the whole family! Catch some trout and enter the basket auction for a chance to win some great prizes!
Fishing Derby
Where: North Berwick Hunting and Fishing Club - Berwick, PA
When: Saturday, April 23, 2022 - 8:00 am
What: This derby will be taking place for children of members. There will be trophies awarded for 1st place in each age group, and the largest fish will be mounted free of charge, courtesy of Gulliver’s Taxidermy.
Back Mountain Police Association Kid’s Fishing Day
Where: Frances Slocum State Park - Wyoming, PA
When: Saturday, May 7, 2022 - 7:30 am
What: The Back Mountain Police Association will be hosting a kid’s fishing day at Frances Slocum. There will be food, prizes, and Fun! Register by April 30th to be a part of this fun event.
North Branch Kids' Trout Derby
Where: Windy Valley Road - Forkston, PA
When: May 21, 2022 - 8:00 am
What: Get ready for family fun and outdoor enjoyment at the North Branch Kids' Trout Derby! There will be refreshments, trophies, prizes, raffles, and fun for the whole family, so pre-register today.
North Branch Trout Derby Association Special Needs Kids’ and Disabled Veterans’ Day
Where: Windy Valley Road - Forkston, PA
When: May 22, 2022 - 10:00 am
What: Join North Branch Trout Derby Association for this amazing and fun event! Lunch will be provided at this fun event, and it is also wheelchair accessible. Pre-register for this event today.
17th Annual Dalton Children's Fishing Derby
Where: Streamside Park - Dalton, PA
When: Sunday, May 22, 2022 - 11:00 am
What: The 17th Annual Dalton Children’s Fishing Derby is finally back! All community children ages 3-15 are invited to join in this FREE event. A ceremony with trophies and tons of door prizes immediately following.
Fish-For-Free Day
Where: Across Pennsylvania
When: Sunday, May 29, 2022, & Sunday, July 3, 2022
What: Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with no fishing license required. (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations still apply. Fish-for-Free Days are great ways for families to “catch” the fun of fishing!
Fishing Retreat
Where: Patriots Cove - Noxen, PA
When: May 12-14 - June 9-11 - July 14-16 - August 18-20- September 8-10- October 6-8
What: An event for wounded military veterans and first responders who enjoy the great outdoors. During outdoor retreats, Patriots Cove volunteers help wounded patriots enjoy a fun trout fishing experience in the northeast mountains of Pennsylvania, which includes their fishing gear and meals free of charge.
